It was such an honor to be invited to participate in Hilton Elementary's 50th Birthday Party. Hilton Elementary is where I first started teaching in 2004. I taught first grade there for many years and Sunni even came to visit my classroom in 2005! Here's a picture from her first class visit:
Fast forward 13 years later, now I was able to visit as an author with my first children's book, "A Golden Adventure - The Hunt for the Missing Rainbow." Although Sunni is no longer with us, it was so much fun to be able to bring my stuffed animal Goldens, Sunni and Goldie, to help share my book.
The best part was hearing from families who already have my book at home and how they love reading it together as a family. One little sweetie told me it was her favorite bed time story! Talk about melting my heart!
My two daughters helped children with the game we created. Children had to stand behind a line taped to the ground and toss the dog balls into the different colored dog bowls. We then had prizes in the matching colored dog bowls on the table.
All in all, it was a great day spent with family and friends, celebrating a terrific school! We're so blessed to live in such a wonderful community!
